Arrests for Marijuana Possession

In 2017, there were 627 arrests for marijuana possession in Kent County.  The rate of arrests for African American males (91.0 per 10,000) was nearly eight times the rate of Caucasian males (11.4 per 10,000).  The rate of arrests for African American females (14.0 per 10,000) was greater than four times the rate of Caucasian females (3.2 per 10,000).

Arrests for Marijuana use

In 2017, there were 712 arrests for marijuana use in Kent County.  The rate of arrests for African American males (42.7 per 10,000) was more than twice the rate of Caucasian males (17.9 per 10,000).  The rate of arrests for African American females (14.5 per 10,000) was also more than twice the rate of Caucasian females (6.4 per 10,000).

Arrests for Selling Marijuana

In 2017, there were 103 arrests for selling marijuana in Kent County.  The rate of arrests for African American males (24.4 per 10,000) was more than fifteen times the rate of Caucasian males (1.6 per 10,000).  The rate of arrests for African American females (1.2 per 10,000) was more than twelve times the rate of Caucasian females (0.1 per 10,000).
