The number of fatal motor vehicle crashes in Kent County that are drug-related have been rising since 2013. In the past 10 years, there has been more than a 400% increase in these drug-related fatal motor vehicle crashes.
In 2017, fatal crashes were more likely to involve alcohol than drugs. Motor vehicle crashes involving alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the two, account for nearly half of all fatal accidents that occurred in Kent County in 2017.
