This ad hoc committee is a team of Kent County Prevention Coalition (KCPC) member volunteers engaged in the development of Minor in Possession (MIP) advocacy initiatives as it pertains to the Coalition goals of Youth Alcohol Use and Binge Drinking and Youth Marijuana Use. The ad hoc committee has a mission to make community stakeholders aware of the dangers of underage substance use, form partnerships between law enforcement and prevention system to create opportunities for change, advocate a vision for community norms that discourage underage use, and create uniformity and parity within the intervention systems in Kent County, especially as it pertains to race in the enforcement of underage alcohol and marijuana interventions.

Purpose

We all care about the health, wellness and safety of youth.  We recognize that they are uniquely at risk because of their developing brains. Partnerships between enforcement and prevention create opportunities for change!  We envision community norms that discourage underage use. We seek to create uniformity and parity within the intervention systems in Kent County.
