Family Day is a national movement based on years of research that proves that children and teens whose parents are engaged and hands-on in their day-to-day lives – relaxing with them, having frequent family meals, supervising them, establishing standards of behavior and setting positive examples of health behavior – are much less likely to smoke, drink, or use other drugs.
Each September, Family Day events are held in major cities across the country as part of the national Family Day movement. Family Day in Kent County is a FREE community event sponsored by the Kent County Prevention Coalition (KCPC) that includes dinner, live entertainment, family-friendly activities and a resource fair.
